Welcome to the 2008 Eurovision Dance Contest! The 14 couples are ready to rock - or should we say dance? - and the audience is already cheering for what promises to become a great night here in Glasgow.

Backstage, the dance couples are doing their last-minute dance routines, before they gather right behind the stage. Stay with EurovisionDance.tv for regular updates, or check out our page on Twitter for short updates, live from the SECC in Glasgow, Scotland. Also leave a reaction on our official Eurovision Dance Contest page on Facebook.

The spectacle kicks off at 21:00 CET (20:00 BST). Click here to watch the show LIVE online!

Update 21:30 CET: The show is well underway. The judges are keeping it very exciting. A complete set of four times 12 points went to the Danish couple, while the dancers from Austria are closing the line.

Update 22:20 CET: The head judge ranked Lithuania above Azerbaijan, and Finland above the United Kingdom after two ties. Denmark leads the score board. The phone lines are open, and viewers from the 14 participating countries can vote. You cannot vote for your own country!

The jury vote

Galdys Tay, the head judge, ranked Lithuania above Azerbaijan, and Finland above the United Kingdom after two ties in the score. After her verdict, this is the leaderboard:

Now, the points are being converted to 4x12 points for the number one on the leaderboard, 4x10 points for the number two, 4x8 points for the number three, and so on, all the way to 4x1 point for the number ten on the leaderboard. The other four couples, unfortunately, do not receive any points from the judges. While viewers across Europe are voting, this is the final scoreboard after the jury voting:

The European Broadcasting Union is postponing the 3rd running of the Eurovision Dance Contest, which is to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan in the autumn of 2010. The EBU and its partners aim at organising a new format to make an editorially more attractive and financially more sustainable production next year, featuring a larger number of participants. The postponement also gives EBU Members the opportunity to conduct longer and improved selection processes.
