The official website of the Eurovision Dance Contest

The voting

The winner of the second Eurovision Dance Contest will be chosen in true Eurovision style. Along with millions of Europeans, you can vote for your favourite dance couple by phone or SMS (SMS voting not available in the UK).

When can I vote?

You can start voting after the last couple has performed. It will be clearly announced by the hosts when the voting starts and ends. Calls and/or SMS votes made outside this voting window are invalid, but could be charged. Make sure you only vote within the voting window.

How can I vote?

You can vote by telephone and/or by sending an SMS (SMS voting not available in the UK). Voting is only possible when you are located in one of the participating countries. You cannot vote for the country you are calling or texting from. You can find the televoting numbers on the bottom of the screen during the show. Note that due to its international character, the live stream will not feature televoting numbers.

Is the voting transparent?

Yes. All votes will be processed by televoting partner Digame, under supervision of an independent auditor. Each participating country will also have its own system of scrutiny over the collation of its national vote.

How will the results be announced?

A expert jury of IDSF international judges from non-participating countries shall act as a jury in the show. After each performance, in the Eurovision style, each jury member shall award each performance with 1 to 12 points.

After all couples have performed, and before the televoting starts, the totals given by the jury will display their ranking, from top to bottom. Once the jury's final ranking has been given, it is up to you to pick up your phone and/or send an SMS (not in the UK) for your favorite couple(s) and have your say on who you believe should win the 2nd Eurovision Dance Contest!

Once the televoting window will be over and the results from all the countries will be counted and verified, the jury's Eurovision-style points (12, 10 and 8-1 to the top most 10 couples) will be multiplied by four, giving the jury vote the weight of 4 countries' votes in the total result (i.e., 48, 40, 32, etc.).

The jury's final results will show on the scoreboard, to be followed by the annoucemens of the spokesperson from each participating country, giving 1 to 8, 10 and 12 points in Eurovision style! After an exciting 30 minutes, we will know the winner of the 2008 Eurovision Dance Contest.

Note: you can also find the correct televoting and/or SMS numbers at the bottom of the screen during the show.
